The Ministry of Population Development and Social Welfare announced 2015 as "Year of Youth Development". About 38.5% of the Mongolian population is under age of 35.
Today, Minister S.Erdene reported that the minisitry will focus on increasing youth participation in development of the country and provide eligible personnel to labour market by choosing right career to students.
The world is home to 1.8 billion young people and that number have never been estimated before. Therefore, the world, especially in Asian countries, is paying special attention to take advantage of young people's potential.
In scope of "Year of Youth Development", the youth possibility of engaging in entertainment, sports and arts will be increased. Moreover, Asian Youth Forum will be held on May 19-21 in Ulaanbaatar city and 600 leading young representatices from Asian countries are expected to attend.
About 33% of the Mongolian population is children. Thus, about 71.5% of the Mongolian population is youth and children and it is the evidence that Mongolia is home to youth and children.
About 20% of Mongolian population is age group of 35-60 and remainder 10% is elders.
This favourable time, youth upbringing, education and choice of career, which based on country`s development policy, is considered as beneficial to development of Mongolia.
According to population studies, population aging will start in 2025-2030.
