Due to most of owl species mainly hunt at night, they can not easily be seen by humans and taking photos of them is difficult for photographers, but quite an interesting experience. Owls have rounded head like humans and their eyes are bright, large, yellow and orange.

The great grey owl or (Strix nebulosa)

Owls are mysterious and rarely seen by humans which relates to their special instinct to hide. If The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) hides at rock hole and sit motionless, only experienced and amateur ornithologists can find them.

The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo)

Or the snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus), which has white body and sit motionless at snow, is difficult to distinguish and we might past closely over them, while we are searching for them for several days. It is rarely seen by human and beautiful bird.

Forest owl hides their body among dense trees. My ornithologists friend would not notice unless forest owl moved her head.

Most owls share an innate ability to fly almost silently and also more slow in comparison to other birds of prey. Most owls live a mainly nocturnal lifestyle and being able to fly without making any noise gives them a strong advantage over their prey that are listening for the slightest sound in the night. The structure of the feather has been heavily studied and accredited to a large portion of why they have this ability. Please, check the video.

The long-eared owl (Asio otus, previously Strix otus)

The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo)

The long-eared owl (Asio otus) has erect blackish ear-tufts, which are positioned in the center of the head. The ear-tufts are used to make the owl appear larger to other owls while perched.

The little owl (Athene noctua)The Ural owl (Strix uralensis)

The Ural owl (Strix uralensis) seemed sleepy after his night hunt.
