City Mayor E.Bat-Uul receives Polish Ambassador Michael Labenda today and exchanged their views on cooperation of Polish companies on projects, which are being implemented in UB city, establishment of zoo and development of public transportation.
At the beginning of the meeting City Mayor E.Bat-Uul said: "I am pleased that the Poland's embassy is re-opening its doors in Ulaanbaatar city. We will welcome you in a friendly way. Investment of Poland is necessary to the city development."
Ambassador Michael Labenda stated: "Poland will be pleased to cooperate with Ulaanbaatar city. We are willing to cooperate on establishment of zoo and introduction of hybrid electric buses."
In response, City Mayor E.Bat-Uul said that useful life of buses currently serving in UB city will be finished in 2016 and there is a need to upgrade 2500 buses. Therefore, we started to introduce smart public transportation system by importing articulated buses from Belarus, which are planned to be serving UB city residents starting August 15th. In scope of renewing the public transportation, in order to save fuel, it is important to increase the number of trolley and choose electric buses. Thus, we would be pleased to cooperate on this project. Moreover, establishment of zoo in UB city with the support of your country seems very interesting. With the establishment of zoo, we are able to invest and establish project unit under soft loan from Poland. I hope that the expansion of cooperation between the two countries will be developed more in the future.
After the meeting, City Mayor received Gordon Hein, Senior Vice President of Programs at The Asia Foundation and exchanged their views on projects and programs which are being implemented with the cooperation of UB City Governor.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Gordon Hein noted that this is the second visit in UB city since 1992. "This time, I arrived in Mongolia in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Mongolian First Democratic Election. You are one of the leaders of Democratic Movement and I am very pleased to meet you. Also, the Asia Foundation is pleased to cooperate with UB city.
