Founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab meets with President Ts.Elbegdorj

Founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab meets with President Ts.Elbegdorj

President Ts.Elbegdorj is attending the 46th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) which is scheduled from January 19 to 23th, 2016 in Davos, Switzerland. 

This year WEF is taking place under the theme, "Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution" which comprises over 250 sessions. 

President Ts.Elbegdorj will participate in the sessions including “Water Resiliency: Accelerating the Implementation Agenda”, “Governors Meeting for Mining & Metals: Policy Outlook” and other. Moreover, he will hold bilateral meeting with Swiss President Johann Schneider-Amman. 

Also the “Mongolian night” event will be held on January 22th, to introduce Mongolia’s economic, investment opportunities and development goals. 

Yesterday, founder and executive chairman of the WEF Mr.Klaus Schwab met with the President Ts.Elbegdorj. 

During the meeting, parties discussed on bilateral cooperation and exchanged their views on organizing World Economic Forum on East Asia in Ulaanbaatar city. Moreover, Mr.Klaus Schwab announced to pay visit in Mongolian on May, 2017 at the invitation of President Ts.Elbegdorj. 

Mongolia joined WEF's Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI) and established  PACI-Mongolia Network. Moreover, Mongolian youths joined the Forum of Youth Global Leaders and Global Shapers Community. 

In 2013, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the World Economic Forum. In the scope of the MoU, a round table meeting on Mongolia’s economic development perspectives was organized in Ulaanbaatar and the report was introduced during the WEF Meeting in 2014.
