Visit solo exhibition "Shell" by artist B.Dulguun

Artist and fashion designer B.Dulguun opens her solo exhibition "Shell" at 976 art gallery.

"While wearing clothes, people become dependent on them; convey certain messages and feelings through their clothing. Would clothes be able convey any message while being unworn?" she writes.

-What is the specific of this exhibition? Why did you name the exhibition as "Shell"?
-Previously, I exhibited paintings with clothes. The "Shell" is the first exhibition which I showed only clothes. Everybody wears clothes while attaching too much importance to it. However I wanted to express the clothes help people to identify themselves. Thus I chose see-through mesh fabric. I named my exhibition as "Shell" due to the meaning of a thing covers outside of something.

-It is quite interesting that you showed only clothes at your exhibition. Do you have any plan to hold fashion show in further?

-I am a fashion designer and artist by profession. There is a difference if we see this exhibition from artistic side. If I organize fashion show, I won`t be able to show all of them. Even I have a thought of fashion show, I have not planned to hold it in near future.

Prizes of artist B.Dulguun:

  • Recipient of Grand Prix Prize of Grand Art 5,
  • Mongolian-Korean young artists’ competition and Best Designer award from Vision 2010,
  • Fashion contest in Ulaanbaatar,
  • Finalist of 2015 Hempel Fashion Award,
  • Beijing and 47th Japan International Fashion Design Contest in Tokyo.

Artist B.Dulguun is also a participant of various exhibitions held in China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, USA, Germany, France, Nepal, Belgium and Mongolia.

The exhibition will open to the public until Mar 04.
