Embassy of the United Arab Emirates was opened in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on Feb 24, 2016 and started its operation.
Specifically, two sides agreed to open the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ulaanbaatar during the official visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Mongolia in 2014.
Newly accredited to Mongolia the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates Mr Abdullah Abdulrahman Abdullabin Rabia Al Tinij presented the letter of credential to Mongolia's President Ts.Elbegdorj on February 24.
Mongolia has established diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates in 1996.
United Arab Emirates issued soft loan worth USD 13 million for financing of Taishir hydro power plant project. Moreover, in scope of bilateral relations with Abu Dhabi Development Fund, economic cooperation of two countries is expected to be developed rapidly in next few years by attracting investment to the biggest projects of Mongolia and exporting meat and meat products to the Middle East countries.
Dubai has become the central hub for the world`s finance, economy, trade, tourism and airline. In regards, number of Mongolian passengers to Dubai has increased in recent years. MIAT Mongolian Airlines flew 15 charter flights to Dubai in 2015 which was traveled by more than 180 Mongolians. Fly Dubai expressed their interest to launch direct flights between Mongolia and Dubai and two countries signed agreement on air communication.
In addition, citizens will be enabled to submit tourist and business visas to the United Arab Emirates from Ulaanbaatar.
