The court resolved in favor of the claimer , and affirmed the decision through issuing the Resolution No 573 on September 16, 2016”, stated the acting Secretary General of the Cizitens’ Khural M.Buyandelger.
The central square of Ulaanbaatar was named after the great General Sukhbaatar Damdin in 1946, in recognition of D.Sukhbaatar’s deeds in restoring the independence of Mongolia and founding the country’s modern army.
The Sukhbaatar Square is located in the very center of the capital city and in front of the Government Palace. The Government Palace accommodated the mausoleum of influential political figures of the socialist era before 2005, when they had been removed to be replaced with the sitting statues of Chinggis Khaan, his son Ogodei Khaan and grandson Khubilai Khaan, and mounted knights and wise advisers.
Surrounding the square are, the Ulaanbaatar City Bank, Building of the Municipal Administration, the Mongolian Stock Exchange, Mongolian Telecommunication LLC, the Central Post Office, the Central Cultural Palace, the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet and Central Tower, and across the main road are, Blue Sky Hotel and the former Lenin Club.
