The 69th Yokozuna, the grand champion of the professional sumo, “Hakuho” M.Davaajargal claimed his 1000th win on November 15, the third day of Kyushu Basho. With a thousand wins, Hakuho is now ranked at third place in the history of professional sumo.
His predecessors Ozeki-titled Kaio won 1,047 bouts between 1988 and 2011 and Yokozuna-titled Chiyonofuji defeated his rivals in 1,045 bouts between 1970 and 1991.
