Songinokhairkhan district court, on Monday, sentenced a Chinese citizen residing in Mongolia, N.Urguntal to 25 years in prison for brutally killing his wife and a 4-year-old child with a chopping knife.
According to the court decision, he will spend 5 years in jail and 20 years in strict regime prison. Moreover, N.Urguntal, 46, was issued to pay a compensation of MNT 8.7 million to the victim`s side.
A Chinese man, N.Urguntal murdered his wife Kh and 4-year-old, who was a child to his wife`s sister, with a chopping knife as well as heavily damaged his stepchild. The crime happened on 31 December 2016 at 19th khoroo of Songinokhairkhan district. Couples were drunk on that day celebrating a New Year. Then, they had an argument and N.Urguntal hit his wife with a chopping knife. While his stepchild was protecting his wife, N.Urguntal knifed a 4-year-old child to death who was sleeping in a room. Police came to the house at around 2 a.m and arrested N.Urguntal. The mother and son were sent to the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center. The mother, 46, had three deep cuts on her head while the stepchild got a heavy injury in his left forearm. Doctors performed an emergency surgery on the son and improved his condition. However, the mother died.
N.Urguntal first came to Mongolia in May 2007 and married with Mongolian woman in 2014. At that time, he applied for a residence permit. However, Mongolia Migration Agency has not considered his request for over a year.
Meanwhile, N.Urguntal got a temporary residence permit in Mongolia in May 2016 that is valid for a period of one year.
