20-25 km long queue created at Gashuunsukhait border checkpoint

On April 2, Bat-Edene Jadamba, Minister of Road and Transport Development, met with representatives from General Authority for Border Protection, Customs General Administration, Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC, Tavan Tolgoi JSC, Energy Resources LLC and Gashuunsukhait Auto Zam LLC on the current issues at Gashuunsukhait border checkpoint and gave directives.

During the meeting, the Minister heard of proposals submitted by the border and customs authority and mining companies’ representatives on ups and downs of coal transportation and issued caused by the Government's 320th Resolution on Coal Transports.

Presently, a large stockpile of coal has been accumulated in the Tsagaan Khad customs control zone and a long queue of coal trucks, running 20-25 km on both sides, has been created on between the customs control zone and Gashuunsukhait border point.

Therefore, the Minister provided a directive to mining companies’ management and the head of the National Center for Auto Transport, to sign Transportation Contract and issue the C permit in coordination with coal loading at the mine site, number of vehicles passing the border checkpoint and coal volume.
