From July 3 through 6, the Government of Mongolia will host the 2018 Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Ulaanbaatar. The conference is being held in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
High-level officials and leaders from 50 countries, including the Deputy Prime Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ministers and Deputy Ministers, and approximately 3000 experts and professionals, will attend. The Asia Regional Plan for Implementation of the Sendai Framework for DRR 2015-2030 will be discussed and approved along with the Ulaanbaatar Declaration.
NEMA announced that the Cabinet will lead two discussions on “Strengthening disaster resilient infrastructure and urban resilience” and “Increasing public-private partnership and investment for DRR”.
