D.Battushig, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, introduced the resolution to appoint a team leader for the 33rd Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and D.Sumiyabazar, the Governor of the Capital City and the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, has been assigned to lead the team to represent Mongolia at the Olympic Games.
The Olympic team leader is responsible for organizing and successfully participating in the training of athletes and presenting the results to the Executive Board of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee.
D.Sumiyabazar, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and the Governor of the Capital City, said, “As the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, I am very glad to be honored to make Mongolia's name in the history. We will try to raise the national flag and play the national anthem many times at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics”. During his wrestling career, he participated in Atlanta-1996 and Sydney-2000 Olympic Games.
During the meeting, the Mayor was awarded the highest award of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, the "Golden Star". The "Golden Star" medal is the highest award given by the Executive Board of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee to those who have contributed to the development of physical culture and sports and the promotion of the Olympic movement.
