Farewell ceremony for Mongolian Olympic Team

Mongolia will send 49 athletes for nine sports categories in the forthcoming XXXI Summer Olympic Games & Paralympic Games in Rio De Janiero, Brazil. 

Farewell ceremony for Mongolian Olympic Team heading to Rio 2016 was held today at Chinggis square. 

During the ceremony, uniforms for the Rio 2016 Olympics, state flag and donations were handed over to the athletes. 

President Ts.Elbegdorj, Prime Minister, MPs, Mongolian National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Health and Sports, Olympic Development Fund and Olympic medalists have attended the ceremony. 

President Ts.Elbegdorj noted that it is important for the athletes and team to stand out from others by self-organization and discipline. Also he wished success to the athletes. 

Our athelets will compete in:

  • Judo - 13
  • Free style wrestling - 9
  • Boxing - 6
  • Track and fields athletics - 4 
  • Shooting - 3
  • Swimming - 2 
  • Weightlifting - 1
  • Recurve archery - 1
  • Taekwondo - 1
  • Paralympics - 9

Also three referees are included in team Mongolia.
