During the meeting, Health Minister E.Batshugar highlighted the successful implementation of the 1995 Agreement on Cooperation in Health Protection and Medical Sciences between the Governments of Mongolia and the Russian Federation. He also expressed gratitude for Russia's continued support in providing postgraduate education and professional development opportunities for Mongolian doctors and healthcare specialists.
E.Batshugar expressed Mongolia's interest in continuing joint training programs in maternal and child health while expanding cooperation to include specialized fields such as fetal surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and ophthalmology.
Deputy Minister Evgeniya Kotova reaffirmed Russia's readiness to strengthen healthcare cooperation in all areas. She noted that bilateral collaboration could be elevated through enhanced human resource development, the introduction of advanced medical technologies and innovations, and improvements in the quality of healthcare services.
Kotova also stated that 140 Mongolian students are currently pursuing medical studies in Russia and noted that opportunities are available for them to continue master's and doctoral studies, as well as participate in research programs. She further expressed Russia's commitment to strengthening the capacity of pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, expanding pediatric training, and deepening cooperation between specialized medical institutions in the two countries.
