“Secret history of the Mongols with detailed explanation” handed over to libraries

The Office of the President of Mongolia handed over the book "Secret history of the Mongols with detailed explanation" to the libraries of 21 provinces, capital, and major universities.

The book contains about 4,300 explanations related to historical words, over 400 historical people, states, tribes, titles, events, customs, weapons, and names of places in linguistics, source studies, history, ethnology, and cultural studies.

The introductory part of the book contains knowledge and information for general understanding, and the main part of the book is translated into Mongolian scripts and cyrillic, and its contents are clearly explained.

The book was meticulously crafted over a year by a team of 25 scholars from the fields of Mongolian history, language, culture, literature, source studies, geography, and nomenclature. The history study team was led by Ts.Tserendorj, and the language study team by Sh.Choimaa.
"Secret history of the Mongols” is considered as inimitable valuable work that describes the wide-ranging issues of Mongolian history including the life and deeds of the Great Emperor Chinggis Khan, his successors and other historical four hundred people, the state of Great Mongolia, foreign relations, conquests, life of the nomadic people, language, religion and rituals.

In 1989, the UNESCO Executive Board called for the 750th anniversary of the creation of the "Secret history of the Mongols" to be widely celebrated internationally.

"Secret history of the Mongols” is published in over 30 countries and translated into English, Azerbaijan, Bulgarian, German, Spanish, Italian, Kazakh, Hungarian, Marathi, Russian, Persian, Polish, Korean, Tibetan, Tuva, Turkish, French, Chinese and Czech languages.

Research works related to the Great Mongolian Empire are linked with the "Secret history of the Mongols”, and the book has been studied from many aspects such as language, history, culture and literature.
