A farewell ceremony for Mongolia’s national team, bound for the XXV Winter Olympic Games Milan Cortina 2026, was held on January 12, 2026 at the ceremonial hall of the National Olympic Committee of Mongolia.

About 3,500 of the best winter sports athletes from more than 90 countries around the world will compete in 16 disciplines across seven sports and 116 sets of medals. Mongolia will be represented in the Games by:

Cross-country skiing: B.Achbadrakh (male) and E.Ariuntungalag (female), competing in skiathlon, sprint and the 10 km race (starting February 7, 2026).

Alpine skiing: A.Ariunbat (male), qualified for the first time and will compete in the slalom (scheduled February 16, 2026).

At the ceremony Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Ch.Undram presented the national flag to alpine skier A.Ariunbat, while B.Battushig, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, presented the federation flag to B.Achbadrakh and E.Ariuntungalag. After receiving the flags, the athletes took the athlete’s oath.

Minister Ch.Undram congratulated the athletes on earning their Olympic berths through years of dedication and stressed the government’s continued support for preparation and participation. “This is not only your victory but the result of the collective work of coaches, support teams, families and supporters,” she said, wishing the team success and calling on them to represent Mongolia’s values with courage and fairness.

The Mongolian cross-country skiers will begin competition on February 7, and the alpine slalom event for A.Ariunbat is scheduled for February 16.
