B.Delgersaikhan, Minister of Roads and Transport, held a meeting with Trofimov Yuri Anatolyevich, Rector of the Irkutsk State Transport University, to discuss cooperation in training skilled professionals for Mongolia’s growing infrastructure and transport sector.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening ties between Mongolia and Russia in the transport sector, particularly in preparing personnel for large-scale infrastructure projects. Minister B.Delgersaikhan expressed appreciation for the long-standing friendly relationship between the two countries and highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in this area.
He noted that Mongolia’s “New Revival Policy” which is part of the country’s long-term development strategy, includes major infrastructure initiatives. These projects require a highly trained workforce, including engineers, technicians, and skilled workers.
Rector Trofimov emphasized that Irkutsk State Transport University is one of the oldest and most respected institutions in Eastern Siberia and the Russian Far East. He said the university is committed to modernizing its curriculum by opening new programs in modern disciplines while strengthening traditional technical fields.
The two parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation, including training Mongolian students at Irkutsk State University, applying for Russian government scholarships, and jointly preparing qualified personnel for upcoming construction and transport projects in Mongolia.
