The highest amount from the next year's state budget was allocated to the Ministry of Education and Science. And the Ministry of Road, Transport, Construction and Urban Development ranks next.
A total of MNT 790 billion has been allocated to the road transport sector, of which MNT 350 billion will be spent on road maintenance. However the Ministry required half a billion on road maintenance, the Ministry of Finance decided on MNT 350 billion.
Recently, traffic accidents have increased due to low maintenance on roads because of only focusing on road construction and neglecting maintenance. Road operation and maintenance will be performed by enterprises with local owners. Roads with poor quality such as Dornod’s hell 50 will be repaired.
Road projects to be started next year:
- Connect UB-Erdenet directly. Currently it is only the UB-Darkhan-Erdenet detour.
- Road connecting Arvaikheer-Mandalgovi-Choir-Chingis.
