B.Khaliun Wins Silver at U20 World Wrestling Championships

Khaliun Byambasuren won a silver medal at the U20 World Wrestling Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, after defeating wrestlers from Japan, Azerbaijan, and Canada. 

Competing in the women's -55 kg category, B.Khaliun dominated her matches, defeating a Canadian athlete 11-0 in the round of 16, winning 6-2 against Azerbaijan in the quarterfinals, and overcoming Japan in the semifinals. 

However, she lost in the final by 4-0 to a wrestler from the United States.

In other results:

Tuvshinjargal Tarav wrestled in the women's -76 kg category, finishing in 5th place after an 8-2 loss to a Turkish competitor in the bronze medal match.

Tselmuun Otgonbat, competing in the women’s -72 kg category, was eliminated by an Indian wrestler in the round of 16. 

Odgerel Erdene-Ochir is set to compete in the women’s -65 kg category, and although she lost to a Japanese wrestler in the quarterfinals, she will repechage. 

In the -62 kg category, Khulan Byambasuren lost to an Italian wrestler. 

Nomin-Erdene Myagmarsuren, in the women’s -57 kg category, will repechage. A Mexican wrestler who defeated her in the quarterfinals reached the final. 

On September 8, Men's freestyle wrestling will start and the Mongolian national team will be represented by Ankh-Erdene Altangerel in -70 kg, Tului Munkhbat in -74 kg, Batbilguun Naadambat in -86 kg, Delgerdalai Demberel in -92 kg, and Nambardagva Batbayar in -125 kg.
