Over the past three years, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has served as a strategic partner of the Ministry of Energy, supporting Mongolia’s energy transition. UNDP has contributed to the implementation of the Government’s Green Energy Transition Strategy through support for policy and legal reforms, institutional capacity building, the development of sustainable financing mechanisms, and the introduction of innovative technologies.
On September 28, the Ministry of Energy and UNDP signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to expand and strengthen their partnership in support of sustainable energy-sector development and Mongolia’s energy transition.
Under the memorandum, the parties will cooperate on projects and initiatives related to a sustainable and just energy transition, renewable energy, energy efficiency, innovation, and human resource capacity building.
The cooperation is expected to support Mongolia’s green energy transition and contribute to the development of clean heating solutions, new technologies, and investment opportunities in the energy sector.
