Agreement reached to purchase enough AI92 fuel from Russia to meet August consumption

A Rapid Response Headquarters for Stabilizing Fuel Supply and Distribution was established by order of the Prime Minister and has provided an update on the current fuel supply situation.

B.Dashpurev, State Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources:

- Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources G.Damdinnyam is currently working in Russia. As a result, negotiations have been successfully concluded to increase fuel supplies for August consumption and to build up reserves.

An agreement has been reached to purchase 50,000 tons of AI92 gasoline from Rosneft this month. In addition, we have agreed to purchase another 25,000 tons of AI92 gasoline and 5,000 tons of aviation fuel. These volumes are sufficient to fully meet Mongolia’s fuel consumption needs for August.

An agreement has also been reached to purchase 5,000–6,000 tons of AI92 gasoline from the Republic of Korea, and shipments have already begun.

Customs authorities have been regularly clearing approximately 5,000–6,000 tons of petroleum products per day since August 1. On August 11, a total of 10,000 tons of petroleum products were cleared through customs.

A total of 171 vehicles transported petroleum products into Mongolia, including three road tankers and 168 railway tank cars. The imported products consisted of:

  • AI92 gasoline - 3,100 tons

  • AI95 gasoline - 172 tons

  • Diesel fuel - 6,775 tons
