Mongolia to establish diplomatic relations with Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Botswana, and Eswatini
The plenary session of the State Great Khural (Parliament) was held on July 4, during which lawmakers approved a proposal to establish diplomatic relations with four countries: Barbados, the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Botswana, and the Kingdom of Eswatini.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommended establishing official ties with these countries, and the proposal was supported by the Cabinet before being submitted to Parliament. The project was passed by a majority vote.
B.Battsetseg, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that by establishing diplomatic relations with these four nations, Mongolia will achieve its goal of building diplomatic ties with all United Nations member states. She noted that only a few countries in the world have established formal diplomatic relations with every UN member.
