U.Khurelsukh: Parliament should make an open discussion on coal case and report transparently to the citizens

U.Khurelsukh, the President of Mongolia posted on his official website that it is necessary to openly report to the public about the open discussion on the coal issue.

He posted, “The Parliament of Mongolia should make an open discussion on the coal case and report transparently to the citizens. And we must make an objective assessment of the situation and take strict legal responsibility”.  

There is a case that "Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi '' JSC received coal from “ETT”, but it hasn't been resolved. Related to this case, citizens have been protesting at the Sukhbaatar Square since Sunday, demanding justice. Yesterday, D.Amarbayasgalan, the Chief Cabinet Secretary, gave an information that A.Bat-Erdene, the Member of Parliament, and Ts.Naranbaatar, the former governor of Umnugovi Province and current Member of Parliament, are under investigation related to the case. 

Today, L.Oyun-Erdene, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, said he will pay special attention to resolve the case of coal theft, while the President expressed his opinion that it is appropriate to openly discuss the issue.
