A citizen of the Republic of Ghana who entered Mongolia on a K2 electronic tourist visa in 2024 has been deported and issued a two-year re-entry ban after authorities found he had overstayed his permitted stay, the Immigration Agency of Mongolia said.
Officials said the individual was fined in accordance with Mongolian immigration law before being returned to his country of origin. The agency noted that while Ghanaian tourists are normally granted an electronic travel visa for up to 30 days, violations including visa overstays and activities beyond the authorised purpose of visit have risen in recent years. In 2025, 10 Ghanaian citizens were deported from Mongolia for similar reasons, the agency added.
Immigration authorities remind visitors to observe visa conditions and to contact the Immigration Agency or their consulate if their travel plans change or if they need information on legal stay extensions.
