The “National Book Festival-2026” aimed at promoting reading culture, strengthening national literacy, and showcasing valuable cultural heritage, will be held nationwide on May 16 and 17, 2026.
Traditionally organized under the Law on Public Holidays and Anniversaries, the event is notable for being held nationwide under the patronage of the President of Mongolia.
This year’s festival will take place simultaneously at Sukhbaatar Square in Ulaanbaatar, as well as in the central squares of all 21 provinces and soums across the country, offering a wide range of book- and literature-related activities to the public.
Preparations for the event have been completed, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth has issued guidelines to capital and local cultural, arts, tourism, and youth organizations, which are working together to organize the festival.
The Ministry is calling on citizens, readers, and young people to actively participate in this cultural and educational festival that promotes the value of books, reading culture, and national literacy heritage.
