State-owned museums to offer free admission during "Museum Open Days"

Starting from March 7, all state-owned museums in Mongolia will offer free admission as part of the "Museum Open Days" event.

The Mongolian Government has designated the first week of March as "Museum Open Days" under Resolution No. 96 of 2024. However, since this year’s first week of March coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday, the Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth has rescheduled the event for March 7-13, 2025.

During this period, citizens will have free access to 35 state and local museums across different regions. As part of the "Regional Development and Patriotism" initiative, special events such as exhibitions, educational programs, lectures, and public discussions will be organized to encourage community engagement.

To promote student and youth participation, the Mongolian Student Union will also host a speech contest and a debate competition among university debate clubs under the theme “Mongol History, Cultural Heritage, and Museums.”
