JANUARY: Amendments to the Minerals Law on reducing the tax on the gold to be 2.5% have been approved. As a result Bank of Mongolia gold reserves reached 10 tons as of November 2014.
FEBRUARY: Mongolia established diplomatic relations with nine more countires this year: Antigua Barbuda, Republic of Burundi, Republic of Vanuatu, Republic of Palau, Republic of Surinam, Republic of Sierra Leone, Republic of Togo, Jamaica and Eritrea.
MARCH: Speaker Z.Enkhbold made official visit to South Korea.
APRIL: MP O.Baasankhuu initiated draft resolution to dismiss MP Kh.Temuujin, but did not secceed.
MAY: “Economic Intensification Measures” 100 days program was approved by State Great Khural.
-President Ts. Elbegdorj initiated draft law on prohibiting MPs to hold ministerial posts and was supported by the MPs, although the impelentation date was controversial as DP and MPP had differring views.
MPP wanted the law to be effective starting 1st of July 2014, while DP wanted the date to be 1st of July 2016. After the votes the law will take into effect starting July 1st, 2016.
JUNE: MP Kh.Battulga, former Minister of Industry and Agriculture, resigned from the post of MInister and Sh.Tuvdendorj was appointed instead.
JULY: Transparent Account Law was approved by State Great Khural.
Law is to be in effect in January 2015. Ministry of Finance will be the main administrator of the Transparent Account and to place all the documents related to the State and local budget.
AUGUST: Xi Jinping, President of People's Republic of China, made an official visit to Mongolia upon invitiation of President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj.
SEPTEMBER: After 12 days of Xi Jinping's official visit President of Russian Federation V.Putin paid an official working visit upon the invitation of the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj. During this visit the sides discussions on visa-free travel between the coutnries have been finalized.
OCTOBER: For the second time in history DP has dismissed its government. MPs R.Amarjargal, Kh.Battulga, R.Burmaa, J.Batzandan, D.Battsogt, B.Narankhuu, M.Zorigt and L.Erdenechimeg voted against their Government.
-MP D.Erdenebat stated that in two years time Parliament mostly was worried about the dismissals for 64 per cent of its time.
NOVEMBER: PM N.Altankhuyag and his cabinet have been dismissed after heading the cabinet for 2 years and 3 months.
Nov 5,2014 N.Altankhuyag was dismissed from Prime Minister
-DP Executive Council nominated R.Amarjargal and Ch.Saikhanbileg, later won with 12 more votes.
-DP Convention was held and N.Altankhuyag was dismissed from the DP leader after 6 years. New DP leader is Z.Enkhbold, Speaker of State Great Khural.
DECEMBER: Government for Solution led by Ch.Saikhanbileg was established with 16 ministries and 19 ministers.
-M.Enkhsaikhan was appointed as Minister of State, having no ministerial structure under this position.
