ACWA Power reaffirms its commitment as a long-term partner in Mongolia’s energy development path

ACWA Power reaffirms its commitment as a long-term partner in Mongolia’s energy development path

During the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Annual Meeting held in Beijing on June 23, Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister T. Dorjkhand met with Mr. Mohammad Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of the Board of ACWA Power, to discuss strategic cooperation aimed at supporting Mongolia’s green energy transition.

Deputy Prime Minister T. Dorjkhand expressed his gratitude for ACWA Power’s active engagement and steadfast commitment. He emphasized that ACWA Power, as one of the world’s major energy project developers, plays an important role in achieving Mongolia’s energy development goals. He also noted that deepening this partnership is a vital step toward accelerating the development of renewable energy in the region. 

During the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Energy Ministers’ Meeting, Mr. Abunayyan also met with Mongolia’s Minister of Energy B. Choijilsuren to discuss strengthening cooperation in support of Mongolia’s energy transition.


Referring to the strong relationship established since 2024, Mr. Abunayyan reaffirmed ACWA Power’s firm commitment to contributing to Mongolia’s energy transition. “With our extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, we are committed to being a long-term partner in Mongolia’s energy development journey,” said Mr. Abunayyan. “Advancing electricity infrastructure development not only accelerates the green transition but also opens up enormous long-term economic opportunities.”

Minister of Energy B. Choijilsuren expressed his appreciation for ACWA Power’s active participation in Mongolia’s energy sector and the promising potential for future collaboration.
