Prime Minister N.Uchral worked at the Bayangol District Health Center.
He said the Prime Minister’s main goal is to work for the health of the people. Although the conflict in the Middle East, rising fuel prices, and the global economic crisis are having a serious impact on the country, he stressed that the health sector must be given special attention.
“That is why I am completely against making a 9% saving or cut in the health sector. Within the scope of my authority as Prime Minister, I believe the time has come to appoint an economist, not a doctor, as the Minister of Health,” he said.
He also said that, as a former vice governor of the Bank of Mongolia, he wants to review the entire salary and health insurance system and ensure it is properly financed.
