On October 1, Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister N.Nomtoibayar met with A.Saparov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The two sides exchanged views on the potential supply of crude oil from Kazakhstan, the development of new transport and logistics routes, and the construction of a meat processing plant in Mongolia.
In particular, the discussions focused on establishing a new direct transport route through the territories of Russia and China, as well as arrangements for crude oil supplies from Kazakhstan.
The parties also discussed the possibility of establishing a large-scale meat processing plant in western Mongolia to serve markets with demand for Halal meat products.
The Kazakh side noted that bilateral trade turnover had increased by 7.7% to USD 133 million, highlighting further potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation.
The meeting also covered cooperation in trade, the economy, investment, transport and logistics, and crude oil supplies.
