According to Resolution No.268 of 2017 of the Government of Mongolia, it was decided to organize the "2nd East Asian Youth Games" in Ulaanbaatar in 2023. In 2021, the official name of the Games was changed to "Ulaanbaatar 2023" East Asian Youth Games. A working group headed by J.Sandagsuren, the First Deputy of the Capital City Governor of Economic and Infrastructure Affairs, held a meeting with the purpose of intensifying preparation of the Games.
During the meeting, the working group made discussions on paying more attention to health, safety and traffic regulation. In particular,

Install CCTV, and prepare internal communications tools
Organize and mark the direction and flow of traffic at the entrance and exit
Pay more attention to safety during opening ceremony and prevent potential crimes
Ensuring the fire safety of sports facilities and vehicles
Prepare a detailed plan, including basic rescue training and recommendations for volunteers who work in the organization of the Games
According to the research, 2,400 athletes and coaches, nine East Asian National Olympic Committees, more than 350 judges and technical staff, over 200 representatives of the media, about 2,000 volunteers, and about 1,500 service support staff will participate. As a result of organizing the "Ulaanbaatar 2023" East Asian Youth Games, the experience of organizing international games in Mongolia will increase, and the number of tourists to Mongolia will increase.
