Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar met with Mayor of Tianjin Zhang Gong and the city's Party Committee Chairman Chen Min-Ar to discuss further cooperation. The two cities have been working together in the fields of culture, education, and economy within the framework of sister-city relations. "TRANSPORT-LOGISTICS CENTER" PROJECT TO BE ADVANCED
90,000 containers of goods are transported to Mongolia through the port of Tianjin. Therefore, the parties emphasized that it is important to create a transportation network connecting Asia, Europe and other continents based on the port, increase transit transportation, reduce the transportation and logistics costs of export and import goods, and speed up the cycle of goods.
In 2009, the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, China and the Ministry of Road Transport, Construction and Urban Development of Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The parties decided to establish a "Transport-Logistics Center" for 50 years on 10 hectares of land in the Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone of Tianjin. Therefore, the participants of the meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation and advancing this project, which has not been resolved for the past 16 years.
SMART AND ECO-CITY SOLUTIONS TO BE LOCALIZED IN ULAANBAATAR
Tianjin is developing a district based on smart technology. The daily problems of 400,000 households in 31 neighborhoods of this district are being solved with a management system based on cloud technology.
In addition, the introduction of driverless public transport services and smart traffic lights has reduced traffic congestion by 20 percent and congestion duration by 20-30 minutes. For example, smart traffic lights use advanced technology to adjust the red, green, and yellow lights’ duration depending on the road traffic load.
Tianjin has introduced a smart waste collection and transportation system. In this context, the waste is transported to one point with high pressure by a special system, sorted and prepared for processing.
Mayor D.Sumiyabazar emphasized that negotiation to cooperate with Tianjin in the introduction of smart and advanced solutions in public utility, prompt operational management and urban planning in Ulaanbaatar, and localization of good standards and practices was made. In particular, it was agreed to introduce the solutions of the smart city and eco-city jointly implemented by China-Singapore in the Buyant-Ukhaa area of the new settlement.
