A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Achit bag area of Khovd soum, Uvs province, at 11:51 PM on July 20.
According to the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, the epicenter was located 211 km northwest of Ulaangom, the province center, 31 km north of Khovd soum, 36 km east of Bukhmurun soum, and 37 km east of Nogoonnuur soum in Bayan-Ulgii province.
The institute notified the emergency services by email at 11:58 PM on the same day.
Following the report, the Uvs Province Emergency Management Department contacted residents of Khovd soum, who said they did not feel any earthquake tremors.
