B.Javkhlan, the Minister of Finance, said, “Mongolia has less danger of declaring default. The fact that we have maintained our credit rating shows how well we are working. The situation in Mongolia is relatively better than in the countries with the same market. It is not appropriate to speak as if we are going to declare a default. Out of the 7 bonds issued, only the first one has financed the project. Therefore, the investigation of the working group will examine the Chinggis bond only and reveal what risks it has created. More than 50% of them are non-performing loans of the Development Bank. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to the use of debt rather than the amount of debt”.
