T.Altjin wins bronze medal at World Wrestling Championships

Mongolian wrestler Altjin Togtokh won the bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. 

Competing in the women’s 59 kg category, T.Altjin lost in the semifinals to U23 World Cup double gold medallist and Asian champion Sakura Onishi, but bounced back to win the bronze medal match. She defeated Russia’s Anastasiia Sidelnikova with a score of 6–4.

On September 17, Mongolian women will compete in several weight categories at the World Championships:

  • 53 kg: Asian Championship silver medallist Ts.Namuuntsetseg
  • 62 kg: World champion P.Orkhon 
  • 68 kg: World Championship silver medallist E.Delgermaa
  • 72 kg: Asian champion Z. Bolortungalag

In addition, B.Munkhnar (50 kg) and T.Enkhjin (65 kg) will compete in bronze-medal matches
