According to the Ordinance #193 of the Minister of Environment and Tourism dated 2021, marmot hunting with domestic and industrial purposes is banned for three years in Mongolia.
The purpose of this ordinance is to identify the number and distribution of marmots in Mongolia, to determine epidemic centers of marmot plague, to prevent marmot plague and to ensure the health and safety of the citizens.
