GOGO.MN partners with Ethics Committee for Print and Online media

On January 27, GOGO.MN signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ethics Committee for Print and Online media, an organization founded in late 2023 to support the ethical standards and development of Mongolian media.

The Committee's primary goal is to sustain and strengthen the work of the Media Council, which was established in 2015 to uphold journalistic accountability and professional ethics. The Ethics Committee reviews complaints from citizens and organizations, assessing whether media reports align with ethical journalism principles. As of October 31, 2023, the committee has handled 549 complaints.

The newly formed support committee aims to safeguard the independence of the Ethics Committee's 30 members, promote media self-regulation, and raise public awareness about the importance of ethical journalism in a democratic society.

B.Unenbat, CEO of "Mongol Content” LLC said, “We have been supporting the activities of the Media Council, the self-regulatory organization of the media, since the establishment. We express our support for this memorandum because this organization, which aims to create ethical media, is important for strengthening the human resource capacity of the sector and setting the direction”.
