On September 28, customs officials discovered 1.63 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice,” concealed inside clothing during an inspection of a cargo shipment consisting of 21 packages weighing a total of 961 kilograms.
The customs authorities successfully intercepted an attempt to illegally transport the narcotic substance across Mongolia’s national border.
Immediate action was taken, and the case was transferred to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further investigation and proceedings.
The Customs General Administration regularly conducts inspections and other preventive measures in cooperation with intelligence and police agencies to combat the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The Customs General Administration urges citizens and business entities to carefully inspect the contents of all cargo and shipments, including goods transported under another person’s name or as incidental freight, to avoid inadvertently becoming involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances across the national border.
