Teenage Chess Athletes won 25 medals from Asian Youth Chess Championship

The 2022 Asian Youth Chess Championship was held successfully in Bali, Indonesia on October 13-22. The Championship was participated by 400 teenage chess athletes from 20 Asian countries.

A Mongolian team with 61 members including 36 teenage athletes, coaches, parents, guardians, and 23 accompanying people, and led by E.Gurvanbaatar, the president of the Mongolian Chess Federation, and Ch.Battuvshin, the secretary of the board of the Mongolian Chess Federation, participated in the Championship successfully. 

In particular, Mongolian athletes won eight individual medals and 17 team medals for a total of 25 medals and finished the continental championship with great success. For instance:

  • E.Khuslen, an athlete of “Khan-Altai" club, the 52nd school, Tuv province, became the 10th Mongolian chess player to win the title of Asian Youth Chess Championship in the standard category.
  • M.Margad, an athlete from “Monchess” Academy, Govisumber province, brought home the 36th medal of the Asian Championship in the standard category.
