In the initial 8 months of 2024, Mongolia's foreign trade turnover reached a total of $18.1 billion, involving trade with 155 countries, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Of this amount, exports accounted for $10.6 billion, while imports totaled $7.5 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $3.1 billion.
The increase in exports by $620 million compared to the same period last year was driven by substantial gains in key commodities: coal exports rose by $372.5 million, copper concentrate by $195.9 million, and unprocessed or semi-processed gold by $159.7 million.
