According to the amendments to the Constitution, the Parliament, the highest legislative body, has 126 members for the first time.
As a result of a mixed electoral system, representatives of disabled people, lawyers, scientists, doctors, teachers, economists, engineers, journalists, and women will make laws in the parliament from the five party coalitions: Mongolian People’s Party, Democratic Party, HUN Party, Civil Will Green Party, and National Coalition.

19 parties, 2 alliances and 1341 candidates registered in the ninth regular election of the Parliament, which was the largest number of parties, alliances and candidates in the history of the parliamentary elections. 126 members, 48 of which by proportional representation, and 78 by majority representation, were elected. 821 candidates are male and 528 are female.
From abroad, 73.2% of all voters who registered to participate in the parliamentary elections voted. In the future, it is necessary to create a legal environment for students and citizens who work at a place other than their permanent residence to vote.
