Speaker N.Uchral meets Japanese Ambassador M.Igawahara

On February 5, Speaker of the Parliament N.Uchral received M.Igawahara, Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia

Speaker N.Uchral said he will pay special attention to protecting investors’ interests and improving the investment environment under Mongolia’s Five-Year Development Guidelines (2026–2030) approved by the State Great Khural.

Ambassador Igawahara said that amid a complicated international situation the two countries should work together to deepen their “Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity.” He expressed his wish to intensify visits and cooperation in 2026, and asked the Speaker to provide leadership in strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.

The ambassador also welcomed the investment programme within Mongolia’s Five-Year Development Guidelines and underlined Japan’s interest in supporting reforms and priorities in Mongolia, including banking reform, artificial-intelligence and information-technology development, and improvements to the legal environment for investment.
