U.Khurelsukh, President of Mongolia, will pay a state visit to Italy from December 1–3, 2025, at the invitation of Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic.
The visit, taking place within the framework of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Italy, will mark the first state visit at the head-of-state level in 14 years.
During the visit, the Presidents of the two countries will hold one-on-one meetings and official talks. President U.Khurelsukh will also meet with Lorenzo Fontana, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy.
The two sides are expected to elevate traditional friendly relations and sign cooperation documents in culture, education, science, minerals, infrastructure, civil protection, local development, sports, tourism, and mass media.
To commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Mongolian Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in Rome, and a joint business forum will be held.
Former President N.Bagabandi paid a working visit to Italy in 2000, and Former President Ts.Elbegdorj paid an official visit in 2011.
Mongolia and Italy established diplomatic relations on June 29, 1970. Mongolia opened its embassy in Rome in October, 2011, and Italy opened its embassy in Ulaanbaatar in July, 2016.
