The Mongols believe that if one watched the first sunrise of a New Year and whispers their wishes it will come true. Not only the sunrise watching is a great experience, but also taking a little escape from the city and enjoying fresh air out in the steppes should not be missed!
Mongolian Youth Federation tourism development centre invites you to take part in their New Year First Sunrise tour on Thursday 01 January. The tour will take place in the beautiful Khangai steppes - about 1.5hr drive from Ulaanbaatar to the east. There will be a Sunrise ceremony, breakfast and lots of fun games for all visitors.

Tour route: Ulaanbaatar – Bagakhangai steppes – Ulaanbaatar
Departs at: 05.30am on 01 January, from the Mongolian Youth Federation Office
Tour program:
05.30 Gather at the Mongolian Federation office & depart with a bus
07:00 Arrive at the Khangai steppes, enjoy bon fire & cultural performance
08:00 State flag raising ceremony
08:10 Breakfast & free time for photos
08:30 Watch the New Year sunrise and whisper wishes
09:00 Complimentary hot drinks: tea, coffee and hot curd drinks
09:20 Fun games among visitors (you are to be divided into groups and enjoy)
12:00 Awarding ceremony & photo time
12:20 Return to Ulaanbaatar
13:50 Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. End of the tour.
