As of 3:00 p.m. on August 6, 2025, there are six forest fires nationwide. Three of them have been contained, while the other three are under control. The National Emergency Management Organization is working with 299 personnel, 21 vehicles, 1 helicopter, and 29 horses to extinguish the fires.
Two forest fires in Mandal soum of Selenge province and one in Sagil soum of Uvs province have been completely extinguished, along with three more in Tsagaannuur and Ulaan-Uul soums of Khuvsgul province and Bulgan soum of Bayan-Ulgii province.
Last week, on August 5, four forest fires in “Eleetiin Am” of Yeruu soum in Selenge province, “Shorgooljiin Undur” of Khuder soum, “Gurtiin Uuliin Khoid Tal” of Mandal soum, and “Undur Khuree” of Khalkhgol soum in Dornod province were also completely extinguished.
So far this year, 54.9% of fires have been reported by citizens, 40.9% have been detected via satellite fire hotspot monitoring, and 4.2% through helicopter surveillance.
