Ch.Nomin: The ministry of Culture has not spend any money on building the Buddha Statue

Ch.Nomin, the Minister of Culture, expressed her opinions on “Bogd Zonkhov” complex building which has been criticized in social media.

She said “The project of “Bogd Zonkhov” complex building was started before I was appointed as the Minister of Culture. The Ministry of Culture did not initiate the construction of the complex and did not spend any money on it in the past.

As he Minister of Culture, I hereby declare that no investment will be made to the “Bogd Zonkhov” project, because this investment is not timely.

For Mongolia, history, culture and religion are very important issues that affect our very existence. However the religion is a matter of internal belief, regardless of whether it is built or abandoned, I urge you to cherish peace”.

B.Javkhlan, Minister of Finance, gave information about the “Bogd Zonkhov” project, which MNT 32 billion was reflected in the budget 2022.

He said “The government hasn’t made any decision to stop the project. The budget law has been approved. The Governor of the draft law stated to not continue the project. Thus, there will be a saving on the State budget”.

D.Togtokhsuren, the Head of the MPP faction in the Parliament, said “The government has raised the issue of the “Bogd Zonkhov” project with a budget of MNT 32 billion. Currently, there is a lot of criticism from the public, so it was decided to freeze the project. U.Khurelsukh, the President of Mongolia, called the relevant people and met them.”
