Japanese government to award B.Serjav the Spring medal

The Japanese government has announced the names of foreign nationals who will receive the 2026 Spring Medal. Among the recipients is Mongolian scholar Serjav Balsan.

Dr. B.Serjav, a former senior researcher at the Institute of International Studies of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, has worked in the field of Japanese studies for many years. Since joining the Institute of Oriental Studies, now the Institute of International Studies, in 1980, she has published numerous academic articles and translated several works.

Her contributions include laying the foundations of Japanese studies in Mongolia, helping train human resources through Japanese language education in higher education institutions, and making a significant contribution to strengthening academic relations, exchanges, and mutual understanding between Japan and Mongolia.

The award is the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, and recognizes her contribution to deepening scientific relations, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the two countries.
