The directive follows a site visit to the highly congested "Natur" neighborhood in Bayanzurkh District, where the Mayor halted unauthorized construction projects in response to resident complaints regarding severe overdevelopment and land disputes.
Mayor B.Purevdagva highlighted critical safety hazards in the Natur area, noting that excessive building density violates urban standards and actively prevents emergency vehicles, such as fire engines and ambulances, from accessing the neighborhood. To combat this, a newly formed monitoring group will oversee compliance, and the city will revoke permits for any projects violating land allocation standards.
Moving forward, municipal urban planning will shift toward a citizen-centric model, prioritizing the creation of green spaces, public areas, and playgrounds over high-density housing.
