Mongolia established diplomatic relations with Trinidad and Tobago on February 24, 2021 in New York as part of its goal to establish diplomatic relations with all UN member countries.
The two countries agreed to pursue friendly relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and adhere to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the UN Charter and the principles and norms of international law. The Joint Statement on Diplomatic Relations was signed by V.Enkhbold, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, and Ordell Barman, Permanent Mission of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations.
The two parties noted that the establishment of diplomatic relations opens up more opportunities for mutual support and cooperation between the two countries and within international organizations.
