Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science reports

Within an adjournment of the parliamentary session, the Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science gave a report Thursday on its works done in the autumn session. The report was sounded by the committee’s head D.Battsogt.

The Standing committee discussed 38 issues at its 12 meeting held with a participation of approximately 60% members within the autumn session of 2015. It submitted to parliament 10 bills, relevant 28 laws and four resolutions, and passed them all at plenary meetings of the parliamentary session, D.Battsogt said.

Besides adoption of the laws, the Sub-committee on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and reducing poverty rate heard a presentation about the “Goals for sustainable development 2030” programme, at its meeting.

In the period of the autumn session, the Standing committee discussed 15 bills, four draft resolutions of parliament, some of them were passed at plenary meetings, he said.

The committees members Ts.Oyungerel, S.Odontuya, A.Bakei and Ya.Sodbaatar gave details about bills and draft amendments to some laws to be discussed at the irregular session of parliament on the rights of people with disabilities, on human rights and protection for children, on surviving spouse’s pension, on hygiene, on legal status of the Red Cross Society and on pensions and allowance from the social insurance fund.
